01.08.1972 10 major companies involved in manufacturing and installation of elevators and escalators decided to found an association on this date.

1975 Introductory letters about the activities of the Association were sent to the Istanbul Technical University, and to the Chambers of Mechanical Engineers and Electrical Engineers in Istanbul, Ankara, Adana, Bursa and Eskişehir.

1982 Activities were started together with the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement in order to improve and develop the increasing number of companies not having the qualifications required for the manufacturing of elevators.

1987 The headquarters of the company was moved to its new building in Hasanpaşa, Kadıköy.

1988 Through frequent meetings held in its headquarters, AYSAD successfully resolved many problems encountered by its members.

1990 A proposal was submitted to TSE (Turkish Standards Institute) in order to change the problematic articles of TS 863 Standard; and consequently 4 of the 9 such articles were changed.

1992 AYSAD was involved into a protocol signed between TSE and Istanbul Municipality by which the problems of the industry were voiced.  First major steps were taken in university-industry cooperation through meetings held in Yıldız Technical University, Mechanical Engineering Faculty and Kocaeli Engineering Faculty

EN 81 standard was introduced under the name of TS 10922 on optional basis with the pioneering and contributions of our Association. The introduction of this standard marks a major step in the Turkish Elevator Industry’s harmonization process with EU.

1994 EN 81-2 (Hydraulic Elevators) prepared a draft standard for TSE.

1995 A computer network has been established in the headquarters of the Association, and all correspondence, procedures and records have been transfered to the computer media.

1996 In order to reach further harmonization with EU following the Customs Union between Turkey and European Union; the subjects under EC Directive 95/16/EC and EU practices have been highlighted in many platforms at national level.

2002 Our Association applied for membership to the Union of European Lift Associations (ELA)

2003 AYSAD was included to the umbrella of ELA as an observer member. AYSAD sent two associate members to ASTEK (Elevators Technical Committee) established under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

2004 14th ELEVCON Congress was held in Istanbul under the sponsorship of one of our members. In IFEX Meeting organized by AYSAD, Turkish Elevator Industry was advertised to the world.
